I’ve chosen what I want to use. Where do I start?

  1. Go to the website you want to use (e.g. weebly.com) and create a new account.
  2. Choose an address that is easy to read out over the phone, descriptive and relevant but not too long!
  3. Never use a password that you also use in your personal life e.g. for banking, online shopping or social media.
  4. Confirm your account.
  5. Make a note of your password and user name somewhere safe and secure. For example, a notebook locked in your desk drawer.
  6. Add your content - text and pictures.
  7. Get feedback from committee members and service users.
  8. Everything ok? Publish the site and start telling people about it and using it yourself.
  9. Have a plan for keeping it updated. I’ve set my Outlook calendar to remind me regularly and because I use all my websites to answer enquiries it’s easier to check things as I go along.
