No. 3 – Give up the acronyms

  • Do you get confused by acronyms?
  • When you use them in meetings or over the phone do people have to ask you to repeat what you’ve said?
  • Is there an alternative?
  • Could you use it instead?
  • Have you “Googled” your acronym lately?

Taking action

1. Start regularly checking publicity before it goes out.

2. If you can’t remove all the acronyms just make sure that at the first mention on each page you put the full name then the acronym in brackets.

*The more often you use the full title, the more often other people will also get it right.
