Grassroots grants for Bradford, next deadline 28 November

1. Opportunity to apply for a small grant

CNet has been appointed as the "local funder" for Bradford district to deliver the Grassroots Grants programme. Grassroots grants are intended for small developing and less well-resourced community and voluntary groups for whom small amounts of funding can make a real difference. Grants from 250 to 5,000 will be available under the scheme.

Voluntary and community groups that have been established or active for at least 12 months, are mainly run by volunteers, have a constitution and governing documents and have an income of less than 20,000 per year (taken as an average over the last three years) are invited to apply.

There are two schemes under the Grassroots grants programme

1. For grants of 250 to 900 please apply under the Fast Track scheme. Deadlines are the 15th of every month. You will find outwhether or not your application hasbeen successful by the end of the month. For an application form visit http://www.cnet.org.uk/uploads/application_900.doc

2. For grants of 901 to 5,000 please apply under the General Grants scheme. Applications will be assessed approximately on a two monthly basis initially and on a quarterly basis from the next financial year. 2. Opportunity to join the grants assessment panel

Why not gain valuable experience of seeing the grants process from "the other side" and become a grants panel member? CNet are looking for members of the community from across the district to help assess grant applications to the Grassroots grants programme.

Training will be provided and you will benefit from:

  • an understanding of how to write successful funding bids
  • the chance to gain new ideas andcontribute to the life of the district
  • being part of a high profile national funding initiative being delivered locally
