Funding for adult mental health services, deadline 1 February

In 2008, Bradford Council and NHS Bradford and Airedale undertook a strategic review of adult mental health services. They have now started on a programme of changes to modernise health and care services.

A main outcome from this review was a wish to encourage innovation and new developments and particularly to extend the involvement of the voluntary, charitable and community sectors in the provision of mental health services to complement the work of the statutory sector.

Bradford Council has established two funds:

1. A small projects fund, which allows for small grants of up to 5,000 to be made to organisations for one-off funding of schemes and projects of direct benefit to adults with mental health needs and their carers.

2. A capital grant fund, which allows for grants of up to 50,000 to be made to organisations for one-off funding of capital schemes and projects of direct benefit to people with mental health needs and their carers that in turn promote social inclusion.

The deadline is 12 noon on Monday 1 February 2010.
