Aiming High for Disabled Children funding, deadline 8 June (12 noon)

Aiming High for Disabled Children (AHDC) Short Break Funding is designed to enable organisations working with disabled children and young people (up to 19 years old) across Bradford district to provide additional and creative short break provision.

The funding is part of the Aiming High Short Break Transformation Programme (AHDC Fund) from the Department of Children, Schools and Families. Bradford district has been chosen as a Pathfinder area and CNet is managing the grant programme on behalf of Bradford Council.

Funding is available for Short Breaks during school holidays, weekends and after school, aimed particularly at those children & young people who "commonly fail to access such activities because of a shortage of services." Grants must pay for additional places for short breaks. The funder is particularly looking for "new, creative and innovative ways to engage disabled children and young people and to allow them to have fun."

Groups can apply for 1,000 to 5,000 per year over the next two years.

The deadline for applications for the first funding round is 8 June (12 noon). The deadline for the second round of funding will be 14 September (12 noon).
