Grassroots grants, change to annual income for eligibility - now less than £30,000

Grassroots Grants update from CNet:

"Following significant feedback from local funders administering Grassroots Grants, CDF and the Office for the Third Sector have decided to revise the guidance regarding the small grants element of the programme. The purpose of this programme is to support small informal voluntary and community groups and organisations, many of whom are dependent on volunteers. We therefore originally set a maximum income limit of 20,000 per annum. However a number of local funders reported that in their area the 20,000 threshold was inappropriate, excluding many small volunteer led groups. We have therefore decided to revise the guidance to local funders, so that in order to be eligible to receive funding through Grassroots Grants, an organisation should have an evidenced income of less than 30,000 per annum, taken as an average for the last three financial years (or over the life of the group if it is less than three years old), and net of any grants received through the Grassroots Grants programme. The other eligibility criteria remain unchanged."

This change to the programme is being applied by CNet to current grant applications. The next deadline for applications is 9 March for grants of up to 5,000. For smaller grants (250 to 900) the next deadline is 15 March.

Guidelines and application forms are available to download from the CNet website http://www.cnet.org.uk/grants.php
